We spent a luxurious staycation at The H Dubai, a five-star hotel property that is located on One Sheikh Zayed Road – yes this is the first address on the famous road of Dubai.
I’ve been to the hotel before when I dined in one of its restaurants, Eat & Meat, during their seafood night brunch. This time, I got to bring my wife and we had a wonderful experience checking in this classy and elegant hotel.
Arriving at The H Dubai, the high ceiling and posh design of the lobby felt like we were inside the Fashion Avenue of The Dubai Mall. The huge chandeliers and the elegant touches add up to the overall fancy ambiance of the hotel.

Staycation at The H Dubai Hotel, One Sheikh Zayed Road
Check in was quick and we were ushered to our room in no time. One thing to note the WhatsApp concierge service of the hotel. If you have any inquiries, you can contact the hotel via WhatsApp for a more subtle way of communicating. Aside from having to call the front desk via their phone, the chat service for me was a good option especially when you’re not in your room and you need something from the hotel staff.
Deluxe King Bedroom
The bedroom we checked in was a Deluxe Room which comes with a King Size bed and great view of the city. The room is a spacious 50 square meters (538 square feet). It is Modern, Arabesque and stylish. We especially love the added lounge chair, the wooden floors, the framed light surrounding the TV, and the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Wifi Speedtest
When I ran a speedtest check of the room, it registered a Download Speed of 9.30 Mbps which was more than sufficient. I’m glad that WiFi reaches all areas of the hotel, including the pool, the spa and even the restaurant and lobby.

Another thing I enjoyed was their study/office desk and which came with a leather swivel chair. It was so comfortable and conducive for some work. I did some online tasks (part of this full-time blogger’s life) and updates.
Bathroom
I like that the bathroom has a his and her sink. They have a deep set bathtub and rain shower located in one part, and the other side is the toilet and bidet. Luxury amenities included are from Elemis.

We enjoyed sitting and lounging by the windows with floor to ceiling height. It was interesting to watch the busy cars on the roads down below.

Restaurants & Lounges
We spent most of our dining experiences at Eat & Meat (check out my blog about our dinner and the breakfast buffet here), but The H Dubai is home to many restaurants, bars and lounges. Here’s a list of them:
- Eat & Meat – this is a Californian grill house with a chic and sophisticated setting. This is the all-day dining restaurant of the hotel which offers an international menu.
- H Bar – Located adjacent to Eat & Meat, the H Bar is the great spot to enjoy on an occasional drink with friends, colleagues or solo.
- The Gallery Cafe – a cafe offering snacks, tea/coffee, and drinks. The Gallery serves as the centerpiece of the lobby of the hotel and is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs.
- Glow Pool Bar – dedicated pool and lounge bar of the hotel, offering also shisha.
- Diademas Cigar Lounge – with dark wood furnishes and leather sofas, this lounge offers an offers an extensive menu of brandy, whisky, wine and cigars.
- Phoenix Social Club -a lounge and bar with a modern yet nostalgic vibe as it showcases 1930s and 1940s social club scene similar to cities like Los Angeles, Miami and New York.
- 40 Kong – an outdoor rooftop bar and lounge located on the 40th floor and offers great views of the city.
- Moombai & Co – located at the lobby level, this restaurant promises to take you to a journey to traditional Irani-Parsi cafes of India.
PLAY Restaurant & Lounge – an award-winning restaurant with a menu that offers a fusion of East and West located on the 36th floor of the hotel - The Lion – a pub and bar located at the ground level of the hotel which celebrates English pub classics.
- Urban On 4 – a metropolitan cafe with a relaxed vibe located on the 4th floor.

In Room Dining Service
We had breakfast inside our room during our second (and last day) in the hotel. The room was very comfortable to stay that we wanted to just to take our time relaxing and lazing around before we were to check out.

Swimming Pool
Located at the 4th level, the swimming pool is where we spent our afternoons during the two-day stay. The pool is a nice way to lounge the day away. Much more when they have a dedicated bubble lounge with whirlpool set-up.
Dubai is transitioning to winter and the weather was quite windy at the time. The pool is also towered by the hotel building so we didn’t get some sun.
That’s why I am really glad that the water is temperature-controlled so upon seeing us, the staff immediately adjusted the temperature and the water became so pleasant to swim in. I did a few laps and we were just so relaxed overall.

Quantum Health Club: Gym & Fitness Centre
For those who are looking to exercise and work up a sweat, the Quantum Health Club is located in the same level as the pool. The gym is fully equipped with state-of-the-art machines for cardio and strength training.
Separate locker rooms are available for men and women and each includes a whirlpool Jacuzzi and sauna. They also offer some interesting fitness classes during specific schedules.

Mandara Spa Balinese Massage
Located at the 3rd level of The H Dubai, we had a relaxing Balinese massage at Mandara Spa. The award-winning spa has over 10 treatment rooms as well as 2 couple suites. They also have a separate wet area for men and women, with each having its own jacuzzi, steam, and sauna, relaxation area.
After so much stress from work, we felt so pampered by the professional staff of Mandara Spa.

There’s a number of points I really enjoyed during our stay at The H Dubai hotel. The leather swivel chair in the room and velvet chairs, the dark wooden floor, the city view from our window, the elegant bathroom, the huge and dazzling chandeliers, the modern Arabic design in the lobby, the pool and spa experience, the overall ambiance etc. – all of this and more had made up for a classy and comfortable stay.
While families can definitely check inside the hotel, I would recommend this place especially for couples. My wife mentioned she was so happy to have checked in The H Dubai, and for that, I’m also a happy husband. 😉
