Ramadan is a time for reflection, togetherness, and appreciating true hospitality, and our family was fortunate to experience just that during the pre-Iftar event at DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai M Square Hotel & Residences.
We previously visited this hotel for a brunch and pool experience at Sunglo M Lounge. However, this time, we were excited to sample the hotel’s Ramadan Iftar buffet. The serene atmosphere, accompanied by tempting aromas, welcomed us as we set foot into The Spice Tree Urban Eatery.

From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was apparent. Warm smiles from the staff, the thoughtful arrangement of dining spaces, and the soft glow of lanterns created an inviting environment. The atmosphere struck the right balance between being elegant and family-friendly.
I realize it’s been awhile since we went to a buffet in Dubai so it was nice to visit this hotel and check out their offerings.
Ramadan Buffet at The Spice Tree Urban Eatery
The Iftar spread is a tasteful blend of traditional Middle Eastern dishes and global culinary favorites, presenting something for everyone. It was heartwarming to see how they had curated a menu that honored cultural traditions while also inviting discovery with innovative, sustainable dining.
My family particularly enjoyed the traditional lamb ouzi—a dish cooked to perfection, with tender meat falling effortlessly off the bone. The live cooking stations added an interactive element, where chefs expertly created everything from fresh Arabic bread to sizzling kebabs right before our eyes.
The buffet spread was an impressive display of colors, textures, and flavors. From the variety of hummus flavors to samosas to Arabic salads, every dish was a delight.
The dessert selection was also a highlight of the buffet. Arabic sweets and fresh fruits were artfully displayed. Not to mention the chocolate carvings showcasing Ramadan greetings, adding a touch of creativity to the occasion.
A Thoughtful Approach to Sustainability
Aside from the delicious food, DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai M Square also showcased their commitment to sustainability through various initiatives. These include:
- Local sourcing within 50 miles
- Zero waste cooking
- Innovative plant-based dishes
- Plastic-free dining
- Food donations to local banks
These efforts not only align with Hilton’s Travel With Purpose goals but also add a meaningful dimension to the dining experience. It’s good to know that our enjoyment of the food also contributes to a more sustainable future.
