We had dinner at the Focus Glocal Dining during our two-night stay at Hyatt Place Dubai / Wasl District. This is their main and all-day restaurant which is located at the ground level of the hotel.

Focus offers a spacious dining experience for families and business & leisure travellers. While the exterior of the hotel may look traditional, I like the contemporary design inside the restaurant which is actually an extension of the theme from the lobby of the hotel.

Restaurant Review: Focus Glocal Dining at Hyatt Place Dubai Wasl District
Focus offers freshly cooked meal options for lunch and dinner. Prices on the menu are also affordable. There weren’t many people inside so we were able to take advantage of picking our table and having the food delivered promptly.
Appetizers
We had meat kibbeh and cheese sambusek as our starters. I like that they cooked the food upon order so items were hot and fresh. I especially enjoyed the cheese sambusek that we ordered the same on the 2nd night.
Cheese Sambusek – AED 19
Meat Kibbeh – AED 19
Fresh Pineapple Juice – AED 15
Main Course
Among the main courses during the two nights, we really enjoyed the Malaysian satay and the Riyash (Lamb chops). These were also the chef’s recommended dishes so if this is you first time to visit this restaurant, I would also advise that you choose the chef’s picks from their menu.
Chicken Satay with Homemade Peanut Sauce – AED 39
Butter Chicken + Naan – AED 36
Sea Bass: Lemon and thyme marinated sea bass with cafe salad – AED 49
Riyash: Lamb Chops with spices with sauteed vegetables – AED 59
Dessert
Lastly, we ordered a fudge cake for dessert. I didn’t expect the serving of the cake to be quite big. It was delectable and I was guilty devouring it. It was so good I had quite a challenge avoiding to order it during the 2nd night as I felt that doing so would already be too self-indulgent. But this cake is really recommended!
Focus also has a bar area, but as of now, it’s currently not operating. This is still a relatively new establishment after all. I was able to check bar’s interior and it looks promising when they will finally have it open.
preview of the bar
Overall, the dinner experiences during the two nights were good. I am glad that they have have Pan-Asian options available. I am hoping that they will add more more menu options in the coming months as I feel that the appetizers and desserts need more choices, especially when this is the hotel’s main and only restaurant.
I’m also happy that Al Ghurair Centre mall iss just a minute’s distance as we had time to stroll and digest our food before heading back to our room.

Plus do look out for the Space Place kids menu that offers favourites like Chicken Nuggets with French Fries, Sauteed Vegetables, Mashed Potatoes and much more.
Note: We were invited as guests by Hyatt Place Dubai / Wasl District. All opinions are my own.
